Rib Goblet

$66.00

A small amber goblet: a round ribbed bowl on a short, thick stem and a flat foot. It is closer to a tumbler on a stem than a wine glass, which is why it survives everyday use.

Best for: Red wine, a spritz, or water at the table. At 220 ml it holds a generous glass of wine with room to swirl. The short stem means it fits in a normal kitchen cupboard and is hard to snap.

Specification

  • Glass: Mouth-blown amber glass, ribbed bowl, solid stem
  • Capacity: About 220 ml to the brim
  • Size: About 14 cm tall, bowl 8.5 cm across
  • In the box: One goblet
  • Made for Jemalrix to our own design

Sizes and capacities are approximate: blown glass varies a little from piece to piece.

About the glass

Every piece is mouth-blown, one at a time, so no two are quite the same. Expect tiny seed bubbles in the glass, a rim that is very slightly uneven, and a few millimetres of difference in height between two of the same piece. Those are what blown glass looks like, not faults. A crack, a chip or a sharp edge is a fault, and we replace it.

Care

Hand wash in warm water with a little washing-up liquid and dry with a soft cloth. Not for the dishwasher, the microwave or the freezer, and do not pour boiling water into a cold glass. Full details in Care & Materials.
