Bubble-Stem Goblet
A tulip-shaped bowl in clear glass with a faint smoke tint, on a stem with a single round air bubble trapped inside a glass sphere halfway down. The bubble is made by hand while the stem is hot, so its size and exact position vary from glass to glass.
Best for: White wine, water, or anything you want to see the colour of. The tulip bowl narrows slightly at the top, which keeps the smell of a wine in the glass. It is the tallest piece we make at about 15 cm.
Specification
- Glass: Mouth-blown clear glass, faint smoke tint, air bubble in the stem
- Capacity: About 240 ml to the brim

Sizes and capacities are approximate: blown glass varies a little from piece to piece.
About the glass
Every piece is mouth-blown, one at a time, so no two are quite the same. Expect tiny seed bubbles in the glass, a rim that is very slightly uneven, and a few millimetres of difference in height between two of the same piece. Those are what blown glass looks like, not faults. A crack, a chip or a sharp edge is a fault, and we replace it.
Care
Hand wash in warm water with a little washing-up liquid and dry with a soft cloth. Not for the dishwasher, the microwave or the freezer, and do not pour boiling water into a cold glass. Full details in Care & Materials.
