Rib Tumbler & Coaster
A straight, slightly tapered tumbler in warm amber glass, ribbed from the base to just under the rim, set on a round coaster of honed travertine. The ribs catch the light and throw a striped shadow on whatever it stands on.
Best for: Water, juice, iced coffee, a gin and tonic. At 300 ml it is an everyday glass, not a pint. The ribs make it easy to hold with wet hands; they also mean it takes ten seconds longer to dry properly.

Sizes and capacities are approximate: blown glass varies a little from piece to piece.
About the glass
Every piece is mouth-blown, one at a time, so no two are quite the same. Expect tiny seed bubbles in the glass, a rim that is very slightly uneven, and a few millimetres of difference in height between two of the same piece. Those are what blown glass looks like, not faults. A crack, a chip or a sharp edge is a fault, and we replace it.
The coaster
The coaster is honed travertine, a warm beige stone with small natural pits on the surface. It is 10 cm across and about 1 cm thick, finished smooth on top with a cork disc on the underside so it will not scratch the table. Natural stone varies: yours will have its own pattern of pits or veins. Wet rings wipe off; leave it to dry before stacking.
Care
Hand wash in warm water with a little washing-up liquid and dry with a soft cloth. Not for the dishwasher, the microwave or the freezer, and do not pour boiling water into a cold glass. Full details in Care & Materials.
